MR. KHAYYAM TO HAWTHORNE CICERO, 111., Aug. 5. Mr. Khayyam, the nearest horse there is to a champion among the three-year-olds this season, will be headed for Hawthorne from Saratoga in a few days. The Catawba Farm colt is an eligible for the Hawthorne Gold Cup on August 24 and the Chicago Derby on September 2. No three-year-old this season has won more than one of the big fixtures for horses of that age except Mr. Khayyam, winner of the American Derby, Chesapeake Stakes and the Wood Memorial.
