DARK COLLEEN, working her way up steadily, closed with a rush on the inside of the winner. CHATWATER moved up gamely entering the stretch and held on well. MERIDIAN QUEEN tired in the closing three-eighths. JEANNE WACHS was unable to reach the pacemakers. ROCK CREST closed a big gap. ALTSHEB tired, as did INCESSANT. SOLL GILLS pulled up lame. THERMAL, forwardly placed, moved up on the outside and, carried out during the stretch run by SOUTHERN SEA, continued gamely and won in the closing strides. SOUTHERN SEA raced CONFECTION into defeat, took command in the stretch and held on gamely. IMADANDY, on the outside early, came through on the inside of RUSKIN in the last sixteenth and finished gamely. RUSKIN showed good form. LONDON FOG was outrun. ATTRIBUTE, rated off the pace, moved up fast when nearing the stretch, made a wide turn to lose ground, but came willingly when straightened away. BANDERLOG, shuffled back going to the first turn, swung to the outside and closed gamely. BRIGHT BEAUTY was outrun early, but was making up ground at the end. PRINCE FOX was used up setting the pace. REDRESS dropped far out of contention in the first half mile, settled in his stride and finished with good courage. GOLDEN FATE, hard ridden and forcing a fast early pace, held on well when put to a drive. FRIEND CHARLEY raced on his own courage for the entire trip. WISE ANNE had no excuses. POETS DREAM kept in close pursuit of the leaders when securing racing room on the inside in the last five-eighths, held on determinedly. HAYFIRE had no excuses.
