1 CLAIMS AND SALES $ . $ Major General, who was claimed at Hamilton during the first meeting for ,800 by J. E. Smallman and lost later to N. McLeod, was reclaimed by the Smallman stable out of the final race at Hamilton Friday for ,500. At private terms, James Fitzsimmons, act ing for the Belair Stud, sold to Paul San ford the horse Dark Amber at Saratoga. Two claims were filed for horses in the third race Saturday, at Hawthorne, E. B. Carpenter taking Slash and Elmer Johnson securing Gramarye. They were entered for ,500 each.
