INCREASE VALUE OF TWO PIMLICO STAKES BALTIMORE Md June 25 The Mary ¬ land Jockey Club announced today that four stakes will be run at the Pimlico fall meet ¬ ing October 31 to November 14 Two of these have been increased 2500 in value each These are the Riggs and Walden Han ¬ dicaps the former for threeyearolds and upward at one mile and a sixteenth and the latter for twoyearolds at the same dis ¬ tance They will be renewed this fall with a value of 7500 7500The The other outstanding events are the Bal ¬ timore Handicap all ages six furlongs 2500 added and the Pimlico Handicap two yearolds six furlongs 2500 added The running dates for the stakes are as follows November 3 Walden Handicap November 6 Baltimore Handicap November 10 Riggs Handicap November 12 Pimlico Handicap During HandicapDuring the thirteenday meeting 103 races will be run including a daily steeplechase In addition to the 20000 awarded in stakes a total of 106300 will be distributed in purses for overnight events The minimum purse will be 600 The values of other overnight events will range up to 1500 On nonstake days there will be one race with 1500 added The stakes will close August 15
