1 BOWIE TURF NOTES $ Dr. Henry J. McCarthy, who examined Sula after the colt was winner of the fifth race here Wednesday, stated that the son of Sun Flag crushed the sessemoid of his left front foot, which necessitated his being destroyed. Sula raced for the Shandon Farm and was insured. Harry Guy Bedwell, who plans to race the horses of A. C." Compton in New England this season, is freshening up many of the performers that raced during the winter at Santa Anita. Stake blanks for the Washington Park meeting in Illinois, reached Charles J. McLennan and they will be distributed among the horsemen. Ben Holmes, who will act in an official capacity during the meeting to be staged at Narragansett Park this season, is a daily visitor at Bowie. Word was received here that dispersal sale of brood mares, hunters, two-year-olds and yearlings would be held by -the estati of Mrs. C, C. Rumsey at. Grasslands, Mid dleburg, Va., on Wednesday, April 17. Georgi A. Bain will serve as auctioneer!
