MISS DIAVOLO began fast, but was unable to keep up in the opening quarter, responded fast in the drive, and closed with a rush. MARCHLINE, used .up in forcing the pace, tired in the last eighth. CHATTERBELLE, on the inside throughout, was shuffled back at the far turn and came again when clear. LADY ZOYA, outrun to the stretch, made up ground thereafter. CHICLARD quit. CHAIN; under good urging while forcing the pace, was wearing the winner down at the end. JOHN BANE, well up from the start, but forced to the outside for room, closed with a rush. FULL TILT, a strong factor from the start, weakened in the last stages. CAPITALIST raced evenly. RESPECT, outrun for three-eighths, came to the inside for the drive and closed with a rush. ALL DEVIL, saved for a half mile, was sent to the outside when improving his position, reached the lead entering the stretch, drew clear, but weakened fast in the final stages. GRAND WAY, forced to lose ground while racing forwardly, was forced wide at the stretch, closed boldly when straightened, and just failed to get up. CIVILIAN, badly ridden and under strong restraint while forcing the pace, met slight interference nearing the final quarter and finished under his own courage. DONNIE W., outrun for five-eighths, saved ground entering the stretch, but was blocked while racing forwardly in the last eighth. HERE ON raced wide. COIN had a rojigh trip. COIL tired. TRACKER was under light urging while pacemaking and quit when put to stronger pressure. BORSODI and CHIFALLY were outrun. COUNTESS ANN, a strong factor from the start, raced PRINCE SPLENDOR into submission after three-eighths, gave way to the leaders, but held on well. SHOW BOY, outrun for three-quarters, made up ground in the drive. SOUTH GALLANT refused to extend himself under strong urging. PRINCE SPLENDOR quit.
