SATION VERSUS KING SAXON Jamaica Handicap Next Saturday Expected to Bring Two Great Sprinters Together. NEW YORK, N. Y., April 28. Sation, G. D. Widener3 sprinting ace, and C. H. Pat Knebelkamps King Saxon, each with 128 pounds, top weights of the field of thirty-five eligibles, are deemed certain starters in the Jamaica Handicap, which is being revived at the Metropolitan Jockey Club grounds Saturday after a lapse of three years, with ,000 added in money. The clash between these two sped marvels is exciting considerable interest and i3 likely to lure another tremendous crowd to the course. Sation is training at Belmont Park, where he turned in an easy six furlongs preliminary in 1:13, the half in :47, yesterday morning, while King Saxon went seven furlongs in 1:29 at Aqueduct in his latest preliminary. Weights for the Jamaica Handicap scale down from the 128 assigned to Sation and King Saxon, to 90 for Town Crier. Singing Wood, John Hay Whitneys Futurity winner of three years ago, which won the Bowie Inaugural this spring, is second high weight in the Jamaica under 121, two pounds more than has been alloted to Greentrees Plat Eye, a convincing winner of the Victorian Purse Monday. As this was Plat Eyes first race in nearly a year, his effort was very creditable and he is reckoned a keen factor in the pre-race calculations. Brookmeades Psychic Bid, a Hopeful winner and a speedy performer in his own right, has been assigned 117 pounds and is deemed a strong possibility. The Paumonok winner, Cycle, and Victor Emanuels fleet mare, Miss Merriment, are in the Jamaica with 113 and 112, respectively, and appear nicely rigged and are rated stout contenders for the prize. A field of at least a dozen is anticipated for the revival of the sprint special, which promises to furnish a thrilling contest on the week end card of seven events.
