LOLOMA moved up steadily on the outside in the run through the back stretch, raced to the front before reaching the stretch and drew out steadily in the last three-sixteenths. GOOD DAME drew away into a comfortable lead in- the first quarter mile and, though holding on willingly, was no match for the winner in the closing test. FAIR TIME was hard ridden in an effort to reach a prominent position and was unable to make up any ground when called upon. MANNERLY was well placed, but was unable to make up any ground when placed under punishment. CURLING, away fast, lacked speed to keep pace, then dropped back, but was going well at the end. HASTINIP quit after going a half mile. CHARMED EYES was unable to keep up. KERRY PATCH was restrained .off the early pace, moved up stoutly nearing the stretch and, after a brief duel with PHARATIME, drew out steadily through the closing eighth. PHARATIME had speed ifrom the start, withstood determined early opposition from CARMINOWE- disposed of her and, despite holding on well, was unable to stall off the winner. DEMONSTRATION was far back early, closed with good energy, but was never in a position to endanger the first two. AUNT FLOR was well placed early, though lacking her accustomed early speed and was unable to improve her position. RICHSTRIKE could never enter into contention. AIR LINE was quickest to begin and, while outrun slightly, moved up fast when reaching the stretch, bore over after taking command and -drew out steadily under brisk urging. EL BANDIDO had speed from the start though unable to keep pace with the winner when challenged. EL BANDIDOS rider lodged a claim of foul against the winner, which was not allowed. OUR CREST was hard ridden from the start in disputing the lead with EL BANDIDO and continued gamely to the end. MIXWELL was going well at the close after having held a forward position from the beginning. LADDIE STONE, in close quarters and hard ridden to keep up, faltered in the closing drive. GOOD OMEN displayed good speed in pacemaking and, despite holding on well, was unable to rope with the closing bid of the winner. ERIN TORCH moved up on the outside through the back stretch, was forced to ease back midway of the turn and was unable to reach the leaders. MY COLIN could never enter into serious contention. LADY DAY drew away into a long early lead, was steadied along under slight restraint and faltered badly in the last sixteenth. HIGH EXPLOSION could never reach the leaders. POPO saved considerable ground at the first turn, moved up steadily, gained a slight lead in the stretch, but was unable to maintain his advantage under pressure. BULL MARKET worked his way up gradually and, closing gamely under punishment, was along in the last stride to take the show from ARMY GAME.
