STARTER DICKERSON ON HAND ARLINGTON, Texas, Oct. 5. Roy "Boots" Dickerson, starter for the Texas Jockey Club, evidently is a devotee of the early bird theory. For, although the start of the fall meeting at Arlington Downs is almost three weeks off, Dickerson is already on the ground, and is keeping his hand in schooling some of the thoroughbreds already quartered at the Waggoner track. "Theres nothing like an early start for a starter," piped Dickerson, who plays golf for diversion, and I he is said to be quite as handy with the golf clubs as he Is with the "getaway" button.
