I DIE HARD moved up fast on the outside rounding the far turn, raced to the front when OUR CREST began tiring and drew out through the last eighth. LOLOMA was well placed, but knocked back badly while on the inside nearing the far turn, recovered gamely and closed with good courage. DEMONSTRATION, quickest to begin, lacked speed to keep pace early, finishing gamely in the stretch run. OUR CREST had good speed in paccmaking, but faltered in the drive during the closing three-sixteenths. FAIR TIME was unable to make up any ground when placed under pressure. GENERAL A., within striking distance of the pace after straightening out in the back stretch, finished stoutly on the outside in the last three-sixteenths and outlasted SOCK DOLOGER at the end. SOCK DOLOGER was well up in front from the start and fought it out gamely to the end when challenged. DASH IN was well placed all the way, saved ground into the stretch and held on willingly in the drive. PENRILL, improved her position gradually in the last three-eighths, hut was unable to reach the leaders. OVER-STIMULATE closed with a rush through the stretch. CRITICISE faltered in the final quarter mile. BUILDING TRADES moved up stoutly leaving the back stretch, but faltered when nearing the stretch. MAURICE G. was slow to begin and was far back until straightening out in the back stretch, moved up steadily on the outside, fought it out courageously with OPOCA and just managed to get up in the closinj stride. OPOCA raced to the front in the run to the first turn and. fighting it out gamely, just failed to last. MOCK MODESTY, unruly at the post, was away slowly and trailed her field into the back stretch, closed an immense gap and was going stoutly through the stretch. FLAMING BELLE closed some ground. GAYETTE was unable to make up any ground when placed under pressure. BYPATH had early speed, but faltered in the last three-eighths. TARTARUS had brief early speed, then quit badly.
