ARLINGTON, Texas, Oct. 29. Presaging a large field for the race, no less than nine of the twenty-seven three-year-olds eligible to start in the ,500 added Dallas Centennial Handicap, stake feature for Saturday, Dallas Day at Arlington Downs, were under saddle for workouts over a stiff holding track at the Texas Jockey Clubs course this morning. Tarns Faust, and J. S. Rileys Spiir- 1 flower. Requiring but little to keep them on edge for the race, which will be run over one mile and a sixteenth, seven of them worked out over distances of five or six furlongs. The two exceptions were Goldeneye and Faust, the Baronl and Tarn candidates going a mile each. Three-quarters of a mile trials were turned in by Min Ormont, Reaping, Infidox and Spur Flower, while preparation of Cascapedia, Swamp Angel and Combahee was over five furlongs. While fast time due to the exacting condition of the track was out of question, all of the three-year-olds showed to advantage. Accompanied by the older Ann ORuley, Goldeneye ran the eight furlongs of his final stiff work in 1:52. The Baroni horse was in hand throughout while Faust, under strong urging in the last quarter mile, ran the same route in 1:51. Spur Flowers time of 1:22 was the fastest of the five candidates to go that distance, Infidox going in 1:23, Min Ormont in 1:27 and Reaping in 1:27. Training in company, Swamp Angel and Cascapedia clicked off five furlongs in 1:09, while Combahees time for a like distance was 1:10.
