SUPPLY HOUSE STAR OF SALE Son of Display Brings 4,000 at Empire City Auction. Twenty-Four Head Sold for Total of 5,460 Bakerstown Bought by F. A. Carreaud for ,900. NEW YORK. N. Y., Oct. 29. Supply House was the star of a sale of horses in training conducted in the Empire City Association paddock before the races this afternoon. The son of Display went to John Sanford for 4,000, after F. A. Carreaud had gone to 1,000 in his effort to get the colt. It had been reported Wednesday that Mr. Sanford had made the purchase privately, which was erroneous. In all twenty-four head went under the hammer for a total of 5,460. They were from various consignors but Supply House was the only one to attract much attention. The second best price was paid by Carreaud when he went to ,900 for Bakers-town, -a two-year-old son of Swift and Sure. Only three others brought four figures while the prices dropped down to 0.
