Schultz; bred by Messrs. Moulder it Oldham. Winner entered to be claimed for ,000. WENT TO POST 5:19. AT POST 1 J minutes. Start good and slow for all but Knave Won driving; second and third the same. FANDAN, taken under strong restraint after improving its position gradually in the first half mile, stumbled when racing strongly on the stretch turn, but recovered quickly and, holding on well without need of pressure, outstayed KNAVE, but had little left. The latter, away poorly and rushed into a long lead, raced very wide throughout, was placed to pressure in the final quarter and, tiring, failed to withstand the winner. MANLY, under steadying restraint for a mile, failed to rally to light pressure, but held the others safe. GREY PAL had no mishaps. GOOSEFLESH was never a strong factor, yet closed fairly well. PRINTEMPS gave way badly after seven-eighths. MANHATTAN labored in the going and was far back throughout. Overweight Manly, 24 pounds; Grey Pal, 3; Gooseflesh, 3; Manhattan, 1.
