CINCINNATI, Ohio, Oct. 29 With Indian summer weather prevailing and the racing strip nearing its best condition, the largest crowd of the week was present for the third to last day of the River Downs autumn meeting this afternoon. There was no feature offered, the seven events being fashioned for ! platers, but the sport was interesting. The first popular victory in two days came in the fourth race, one of the best events, when Mrs. Frank Prestons Miss Greenock was an easy winner. Chance Queen carried Mrs. Henry Dattners colors into second place, five lengths back of Miss Greenock and half a length before Emmie R., which held the same advantage over Emvee, the second choice. Indian Lace, Dulcimer and Tobacco, which completed the field of three-year-olds, pursued the leaders in the named order. Willie Hanka handled the daughter of Greenock in fine style and, after saving her when Chance Queen sprinted into a long lead, he drove her to the front entering the stretch. Drawing away rapidly, she had enough left to be placed under restraint in the late stages. After giving way to the winner. Chance Queen tired, but she withstood Emmie R., which was always best of the others. Emvee raced wide and the others were never factors. Over a track classified as good,- Miss Greenock ran the six furlongs in 1:1354. She was held at odds of 2 to 1 and carried 109 pounds. SECOND FOR FUSIBLE. Fumble, from the Detroit-owned McCarthy Stable, won his second race of the meeting when he defeated Moandmo; Cuban Boy, and five other juveniles in the fifth face at one- mile and seventy yards. Cleverly ridden by E. Rodriguez, Fumble was hustled to the front and drawing clear after disposing of Burl, came to the stretch with a good advantage. However, Moandmo drove through on the inside to take the lead but he was not good enough and the winner came again to lead him by a length and one-half at the end. Cuban Boy tired after offering a bold bid approaching the final furlong. Catchem, a lukewarm choice, was always far back. Queens Best, a four-year-old daughter of Best Pal and Queen High which races for Al Newman, furnished a big surprise when she turned back eleven other three- and four-year-old maidens in the first race. Lee- oran was second at the end of the three-, quarters journey, with Cacarina third. Whata Question, the favorite, was always far back. Ridden by G. L. Smith and forced to lose ground from the start, Queens Best wore down Cacarina and Leeoran in the final sixteenth to be a length before the latter at the !end. Agent, which swerved to the inside j.when tiring in the stretch, was the only one "Of the others to hold a prominent position. Cool worked out a mile and three-quarters in 2:59. BE QUIET SURPRISES. i Figurin Stables Be Quiet won her second race of the meeting and provided another surprise when she was an easy winner of the second, for which Yankee Waters was the choice. Second went to Zipalong, a "fielder" which lasted to beat Joaney B. by a head. The latter was a length before Yankee Waters at the end. Porter Roberts rushed the winner to the front and, responding to strong urging when Hope Loring and Zipalong threatened, she reached the finish four lengths before the latter. Joaney B. drove through on the inside on the stretch turn to wear down the leaders in rapid order. Dark Devue chalked up her second score when she was best of Ann Jones, the ite. Linnie Kate and five other two-year-old fillies that met over six furlongs for the third race. Rushed to the front on the inside on the far turn. Dark Revue, which flaunted the J. S. Anderson colors, rapidly established a good advantage and, responding to strong urging when Ann Jones offered a bold threat in the stretch, came to the fin- ish two and one-half lengths before the favorite, which led Linnie Kate by some eight lengths for second.
