MAIN MAN IN GOOD WORKOUT Respess Derby Candidate Gives Another Sample of His Speed in Trial at Keeneland Park. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 19. Main Man, the Kentucky Derby prospect of Jerome B. Respess, which has been training in impressive fashion over the Keeneland course, gave another sample of his ability yesterday morning when he went a mile in 1:40 handily and was eased up the mile and a furlong in 1:54. With jockey Robert Dotter in the saddle and under the watchful eyes of his owner and trainer, B. F. Eyerman, the son of Hildur and Rose Mist began running at the final post of the mile and one-sixteeenth track and worked around to the mile post. Full of run, Main Man went the first quarter in :23, after which he settled down to an even pace and reached the half mile in :48 and the three-quarters in 1:13. After finishing the mile in 1:40, under steady handling, Main Man was eased up gradually. HANDY GALLOP. This morning, J. J. Greely, Jr., trainer of the Shandon Farm Stable here, sent Burning Star three-quarters in 1:14, the son of Burning Blaze moving in handy fashion. He was timed the opening quarter in :23, the half-mile in :47, and the five furlongs in 1:00. Dellor, the J. W. Parrish Derby candidate, went three furlongs in :36, probably in preparation for a longer move tomorrow. The track was In fast condition for both training periods, although a slight amount of rain fell last night. Clear weather prevailed this morning.
