SATISFIED WITH TEST OF "EYE IN THE SKY" SAN MATEO, Calif., April 19. William P. Kyne, general manager of Bay Meadows, is perfectly satisfied with the "eye in the sky," and the public will have their finishes recorded re-photo from here on out. The photographic contraption, an invention of Aaron Harvey, of Chicago, was put to the test at the San Mateo track Sunday and came through with flying colors. "Shots" of a couple of pseudo-racehorses and a saddle pony in action were taken from both sides of the track and each camera showed the same horse finishing in front. It could not be related that the "shots" were taken simultaneously as the cameras were not tripped at the same time. Inventor Harvey explained that the cost of synchronization would amount to several thousand dollars, which is too great a sum for such a test Nevertheless, the pictures were enough to convince Kyne and his directors that the "eye in the sky" was a useful thing to have around.
