LATONIA DERBY ON JUNE 12 Outstanding Feature of Covington Spring Meeting Dates for Other Stake Events. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 26. The fixing of Saturday, June 12, as the date for the 5,000 Latonia Derby, outstanding feature of the thirty-seven days Latonia meeting, the addition of another stake to the program of added money features and dates for the entire list of eight top-line events were announced today by Col M. J. Winn, head of the Covington track. The new stake is the Inaugural Handicap. Carrying ,500 in added money and for three-year-olds and over, with the distance a mile and a sixteenth, the Inaugural will headline the opening program on Saturday, May 29. Dates for other stakes and handicaps were announced as follows: June 5 ,000 added Quickstep Handicap, three-year-olds and over, six furlongs. June 19 ,500 added Clipsetta Stakes, two-year-old fillies, five and a half furlongs. June 26 ,500 added Enquirer Handicap, three-year-olds and over, one and one-sixteenth miles. July 3 ,500 added Cincinnati Trophy, two-year-olds, colts and gelding, six furlongs. July 5 ,500 added, Independence Handicap, three-year-olds and over, one and one-eighth miles. July 10 ,000 added Latonia Oaks, three-year-olds, fillies, one and one-eighth miles.
