DENIES SEABISCUIT WORK SAN MATEO. Calif., April 26 Tom Smith, trainer of Seabiscuit, today issued a denial that his star had worked a fast mile Friday. The publicity department of Bay Meadows released a story Friday reporting that Sea-biscuit had galloped the once-around in 1:38. Smith states that he has done nothing with Seabiscuit but gallop him since his winning race in the Marchbank Handicap at Tanforan. The Bay Meadows employe who released the story stated that a horseman had advised him that he had caught Seabiscuit in fast time and the yarn was published in the Daily Racing Form as a news release by the Bay Meadows track.
