RESPESS CINCINNATI STRING Erlanger Horseman Ships Stable to River Downs Track Minus Star Main Man Due Later. CINCINNATI, Ohio, April 29. The popular string of Rome Respess, Erlanger horseman, minus the star of the stable, Main Man, winner of five consecutive races, arrived at the River Downs track to participate in the twenty-three day meeting that opens on Wednesday, May 4. The crack son of Hildur was shipped to Louisville, where he will seek honors- in the opening inaugural at the, Derby course and then will be shipped to the Cincinnati track to rejoin the others. Main Man is expected to cut quite a figure in local racing and it is the plan of the Kentucky horseman to send him after all of the stakes he is eligible for. The thoroughbred colony has increased rapidly in the past few days and a check revealed more than 450 horses quartered at the spacious up-the-river track. Many star " thoroughbreds are numbered among the ones early in training for the coming spring season and good racing is assured fans of greater Cincinnati. PLENTY OF RIDERS. Riding material will also be plentiful, for J a check-up reveals a large number who will ply their wares during the meeting. Three star apprentices are on the grounds, V. No-darse, who performed brilliantly at New Orleans; J. Gardelle and R. Sylvester. Among the older saddle artists are Earl Pool, Charley Stevenson, A. Craig, C. Mojena, F. Faust, E. Rodriguez, C. Hanauer, Glen Fowler, Bert Thornton, R. McCarty, Bobby Hutton, J. W. Wilson, M. Calvert, J. Carter, Willie Farrell, R. Dean, Porter Roberts, J. R. Hill, Willie Hanka, Lee Hardy and many others. The track has been whipped into first-class condition and only a few minor details remain to be completed for the opening.
