j RIVER DOWNS TURF NOTES j The speedy Rebekah heads the shipment of A. R. Mann, prominent Boston, Mass., horseman. Other arrivals are S. T. Mapp with seven; Otto Bagley came in with Unselfish, Sympathizer, Wise Barrister, Lillian Roth and eight others. The River Divide Farm of R. J. Dienst, Columbus sportsman, with eleven, and H. Torriente. J. O. Keene, prominent Kentucky horseman, checked in with a string of ten he plans to race throughout the twenty-three-day meeting. Dora May, crack sprinter, heads the nine that will be seen in action at River Downs, carrying the silks of Gus Simone, Florence, Ky., sportsman. The good two-year-old Peggy Byrd is also included in the string, trained by W. Westerfield. Dave Bryant, former jockey, arrived Thursday morning with the two-year-old Roras Last and the five-year-old Gen. Greenock. George E. Lewis registered eleven Thursday morning, which included Pompeys Pillar and Dandy Jay he is training for A. C. Snyder, Speed Queen, Crackall and Hank MacTavish, owned by J. W. Barnes, and his wifes old campaigner, Bichloride. He also has the two juveniles Lawqui and Geequi i and the three-year-old maiden Euphonic, by Hildur and Sweet Talk, he will race for C. , H. Wagner, Jr. One of the most important consignments to reach River Downs was the large string of John Anhut, prominent Detroit sportsman, who races under the nom de course of the Imperial Farms. Eleven older performers and the four juveniles Imperial Sir, Imperial Anhut, Imperial Ronie and Imperial Jayna. They reached the track inj j splendid condition and are ready to race.
