1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES 1 s 1 Besides the three Kentucky Derby eligi-bles, Menow, Bourbon King and Dah lie, the horses Copy Cat, Fraidy Cat, Old Nassau and Autumn Gold, were registered here j for H. P. Headley. Trainer Duval Headley is to be here tomorrow from Lexington, j Before shipping the remainder of his stable from Keeneland, Edward Haughton turned out the filly Barbara S. The horses which J. M. Goode brought to the Downs from Lexington were Knee Deep, Dellor, Entree, Woodsia, The Whale, Back-intime, Genevra M, Stockboard, J. Ware, T. Marcus, Euneva and Myrica. They are owned by the Kentucky breeder and banker, James W. Parrish. Seven horses are here to sport the silks of the Shandon Farm, owned by P. A. and R. J. Nash, of Chicago, under the direction of J. J. Greely, Jr. The horses are Bluefield, Dickerville, Gold Flag, On Your Way, Sly Kitty, Kitty Gaffney and Fair Rock. Greely also has the filly Delovely for Miss Nan OMalley. Of the horses he campaigned at Keeneland, J. B. Respess sent only Main Man, a candidate for the Clark Handicap, to Churchill Downs. Conn Smyth, Canadian sportsman, will be represented at the local course by eight jhors.es: Shoeless Joe, Ocala, Indignant, Sir Marlboro, Skating Fool, Sink or Swim, Blue Ice and Please Doctor. They are trained by W. E. Coburn, who also has Kleen Flight for R. H. Bardwell. So Good, Feezie, Social Lass and the two-year-old Ainotal Latonia spelled backwards are the racers which Clem Schutte will race here under the silks of his wife. R. A. Kindred will begin the Churchill Downs season with only three horses, Fountain Head and Fritz Hallam, the property ! of H. G. Shoemaker, and Thistle Ress, owned by G. C. Collins. Royal Sortie, Bramble Sortie and Close Kin, are the performers W. E. Caskey has at the Louisville course. : Jockey W. L. Johnson, who has been vacationing at his home in Philpot, Ky., got in and reported to the stable of Mrs. R. J. Murphy. Jockey Harold West left here for Aurora where he will enter the employ of T. N. Gaughan. Fred Burton is accepting Churchill Downs entries at Douglas Park for the convenience! of stables quartered at the Beechmont track. Courtney Forsyth has taken over the engagement books of jockey Jce Cowley and apprentice C. Calvin. The horses which Tommy Root brought here from Lexington for C. W. Pershall were Judge Leer, Hose, Booming Guns, Joy Ride. Miss Lampley, Peggys Sun and Winged Victory. Robert Saxton, sports editor of the Cincinnati Enquirerr motored from Cincinnati to Churchill Downs to interview officials during the day. He returns next Thursday, to remain until after the Derby. C. Bruce Head is back from Churchill, where he spent several days in connection with the coming Lincoln. Fields meeting. He is general manager of the Chicago track and is also connected with Churchill Downs. Leo Ji Marks, Ohio and Kentucky patron and a prominent breeder, has the following horses at Churchill Downs under trainer Al Woodman: Marmara, Mad Money, Mar Le Must Be, Markme, Moorish, Millie M., Mid- air, Mutinous, Mascot, Marbold, Maleman and three others. Des Dressen, head of the mutuel department at the Detroit Fair Grounds, will leave for the Motor City just as soon as his wife recovers from an operation she underwent in Louisville. Upon reaching Detroit, Dressen will remain there until after the spring meeting. Frank J. Fischer, head of Fischers Parkers, is personally directing the parking of automobiles at Churchill Downs. He has v some thirty assistants, and on Derby Day will work about seventy-five. Ross Higdon received Sky Witch and French Witch from Keeneland, and they were added to his large stable at Churchill Downs. They belong to F. B. Koontz of Tulsa.
