LOUS PRINCE, fractious at the gate, broke swiftly and, hustled into the lead, saved ground while setting the pace and was never in danger of being headed. CONTRIBUTE worked way up on the outside in the first three-eighths, responded well to strenuous urging, but was unable to menace the winner. SIOUX CHIEF improved his position gradually under hard urging and showed a good effort. KEEN GLOAMING tired in the final quarter after having been well up. BILLY NICKTIER tired. KAl-FINN, close up from the start and well handled, disposed of APRONETTE after going a half mile, drew into a commanding lead quickly and won with something in reserve. FLO RAFFLES, saving much ground throughout and hard hustled all the way, held on with good courage in the drive. APRONETTE was rushed into the lead soon after the start, set the pace under extreme pressure and tired in the final quarter. ZAPOTEC bore out slightly on the turns. SLEEPY MOSE acted badly at the post, broke with the leaders, but dropped out of it after three-eighths. GOLD STEP lacked speed. COVENTRY CAP, going in his best form and saving ground throughout, worked his way up on the inside, disposed of RED COLONEL in the final eighth and was slowly increasing his margin. RED COLONEL was well up all the way, assumed a slight lead after three-eighths, but could not retain advantage. TAD-CASTER began sluggishly, improved position steadily under strong urging and finished well. BAYBANE quit. EDDIE C. bolted and was cased up after a quarter. HURRY HAWK began sluggishly, was outrun for a, half mile and made up ground rapidly. MY PETER had no mishaps. JEU DE BAR was much used up during the first three-quarters and gave way thereafter.
