t BOWIE TURF NOTES f s e Marshall Cassidy, George Brown, Jr., and W. L. Harron, stewards during the recent meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club, recommended to the Maryland Racing Commission that jockey Beverly Hacker be suspended for ten days for crossing his field too sharply with the plater, Celtic Legend, in the seventh race at Pimlico on Tuesday. For the convenience of the public, general manager Joseph B. Boyle opened the new gates and turnstiles that were recently completed as part of the improved program at the Prince Georges County track. At the paddock entrance, canopies have been thrown over the gates for shelter in bad weather. Herbert Kerr brought four horses from Narragansett Park, and will remain for the entire meeting. W. J. Hirsch arranged for the shipment of his stable at Santa Anita Park, Calif., on Thursday. Jockey L. Dupps, who rides for the stable has received permission to remain at Bowie during the term of racing then join the establishment at a later date. Thirty horses of the Woolford Farm stable are being transferred to Hialeah Park by trainer B. A. Jones to be concentrated with ten others that are being shipped from Kansas City. The stable will be one of the largest in the Florida area during the coming winter season. Jockey H. Lindberg joined the riding colony at Bowie and will ride throughout the thirteen-day session. One carload of horses embracing sixteen members of the E. K. Bryson stable wers loaded and shipped to New Orleans to await the meeting in the Crescent City that ushers in the sport Thanksgiving Day. Another car of sixteen horses from the same establishment will leave on Saturday for the same destination. George Cassidy, who will serve as starter for the Miami Jock y Club, stopped over in Baltimore, en route to Florida. Several stables, which were not represented on the final program of the Maryland Jockey ,Glub, moved to Bowie, to get settled for the session at the Prince Georges County track. Charles J, McLennan received many nominations for the stakes of the Miami Jockey Club that closed at midnight, Tuesday. The list of nominations will be released shortly from offices in Florida. All stalls at Tropical Park and Hialeah Park have been allotted, according to officials, and no other reservations will be entertained. Horsemen without reservations are warned not to ship unless they have been granted accommodations. Charles J. McLennan, racing secretary of the Miami Jockey Club, departed for Miami, Fla., via plane, late Wednesday. Louis Strube is shipping his good mare, Rust, to winter quarters. She will be picked up early in the spring and placed back in training. Rpy Dickerson ,lef t for Wheeling, W. Va., on a hunting trip. He will later go to Miami, Fla., for the winter months.
