LUCUBELLE was shut off at the start and was forced to pull up, then was used up toeing rushed into contention and tired badly in the stretch. HOWDY ANDY, rated close to the pace in the early running, forged to the front when MODEL DAME began to tire and, going well to the finish, had enough left to hold EASTER PARADE. The latter moved up steadily through the stretch and was pressing the winner at the finish. MOLLIFY closed fast and gamely. EL PORTAL was in close quarters while racing on the inside after going half the distance, but came gamely to find an opening in the stretch and finished close up. MODEL DAME and SKY GREY quit in the stretchl DIPPERCONARD had some early speed and would have fared better with a stronger and more experienced rider. Overweight Sky Grey, 1 pound. CLAUDE K., sent to the front of TENTMATE rounding the stretch turn, drew away from TENTMATE after entering the final eighth, but was unable to hold the winner. TENTMATE, well ridden, had no excuses and tired in the stretch. TRANSBIRD closed ground under, urging. DO IT had speed for three-quarters. DAILY NEWS, rated close up from the start, was caught in close quarters next fo the rail in the stretch and, forced to take up, came to the outside in the last eighth to wear down BOOTER BILLIE and " was going away at the end. BOOTER BILLIE moved to the front of DIDUTELLUS after entering the stretch, but could not resist the winner and ran away three-quarters after the finish. DIDUTELLUS set the pace under slight restraint and tired in the stretch. TRAIN SIGNAL made up ground on the outside. DISSENT outbroke her rider at the start and saved ground to close a gap. BON IVY was never a contender and turned in an exceptionally weak effort. SHASTA OVER also performed poorly. CAPTAIN JINKS showed some early speed. Overweight Bon Ivy, 3 pounds. DONT FORGET, easily best, was in close quarters early and did not loom as a strong contender until the stretch was reached, then came with a rush to catch PALACIO near the end and won going away. PALACIO got through an opening soon after the start to take command in the back stretch and, hugging the rail in the run home, raced well to tire finish, but was no match for the winner. OUR HAVEN raced, very wide in the stretch, but finished fast. TEMPERAMENT was going gamely at the end. NANAK tired in the stretch. HADNOGAL raced fairly well. RED ROCK CANYON was whipped out an extra eighth after the finish. MAYSETTE was caught in close quarters soon after the start and fell.
