IRENES BOB, away in the first flight, raced into the lead during the opening sixteenth, drew clear of his field before reaching the far turn and, rated along in front, held on gamely under a strong hand-ride through the last eighth. MINEY MYERSON was steadied along in near pursuit of the pace, moved up on the outside when reaching the stretch and, despite reponding gamely to punishment, was not quite good enough. IZAAK WALTON moved up on the inside leaving the back stretch, but was unable to close any ground when placed under punishment through the stretch. AFTERMATH closed a good gap in the final quarter mile. GALA STAR, away fast, was unable to keep up. HAPPY PICNIC was unable to keep pace during the first three-eighths, then came gamely in the closing drive. RACEAWAY ..was quickst to begin, had good speed in the going, but was unable to keep pace when challenged through the last three-sixteenths. TAUT was prominently placed all the way, but was unable to make up any ground when placed under pressure. DISTRACT was closer to the pace than usual during the early running, drove through on the inside on the stretch turn and, finishing stoutly, was along inside the last sixteenth to wear down GRAND LIGHT. The latter, unruly at the post, opened up a good load and, while holding on gamely, was unable to cope with the closing bid of the winner. LADY SARA was forwardly. placed the entire trip, then yielded ground during the last three-sixteenths. WULFSTAN was slightly restrained early and was unable to reach the leaders when railed upon. PRINCESS BULL was slow to settle into her best stride, then made up some ground during the last five-sixteenths. WHISPER was stpered a wide course the entire trip. HYLAND was steadied in back of the pace and finished gamely when placed under pressure. LILTING was prominently placed all the way and, while no match for the first two, held on doterminedly. HASTY SUE was far back early, raced into contention with a rush after leaving the back stretch, but was unable to make up ground during the remainder of the trip. FIRING was unable to reach the loaders. TOBIAS tired steadily after racing well for the first three-eighths. BOBS BOYS saved ground on the first turn, was under slight restraint while keeping within striking distance of the leaders, moved up gradually on the inside, moved on the inside of DUNADE when straightened out in the stretch and held him safe, through the last eighth. DUNADE was taken under slight reserve after gaining a forward position, responded willingly when called upon and fought it out in determined fashion through the stretch. BILLY VAN NUYS was unable to keep pace early and finished with good energy. GALLANT STROKE displayed speed for the first three-quarters. PUMPGUN, unruly at the post, was started from outside the stalls, reared slightly when the start came and was outrun throughout. HAPPY ROAD, restrained off the pace until the last three-eighths, moved up with a rush, disposed of GOLD CROSS for the lead and, although holding on willingly, was unable to cope with the bid of the winner. GOLD CROSS, prominent all the way, held on willingly. MISS PECAN closed a big gap. BRILLIANT ROCK was unable to reach the leaders. NIPPONESE tired. ROYAL FLIGHT and MISLED quit after showing speed for five-eighths.
