I FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES $ j According to word received here by Olin Johnson, head trainer of the James C. Ellis stable, from Bob Byers, the large band of yearlings that he has at Dade Park at present are progressing nicely. The crop are all home-breds from the Owensboro farm of the Dade Park Jockey Clubs president. Jockey Andy LoTurco, who fell from Pima Nugget two days ago, returned to Touro Infirmary for further examination. A soreness has developed about his ribs as the result of the fall. George Swain, entry clerk and attache of the racing secretarys office at the Fair Grounds, is nursing a badly wrenched back, suffered several days ago. G. F. Mitchell has taken a lease on the services of apprentice Willie Seaman from John Allgeyer, and is negotiating a deal for the transfer of the boys contract to one of the larger stables here. The horses of Mrs. J. Koury have been taken by Joe Koury to train. The stable includes Crack Boy, Robert S. and Reigh Mouse. Jack Sullivan, an attache of the jockey quarters who has been confined to his home for more than a week, underwent a minor throat operation at a local sanitarium. With the expiration of his ten-day suspension on Friday, jockey "Buddy" Hacker plans to make his return to the saddle Saturday afternoon at the Louisiana Jockey Clubs course. Radio Charm rapped herself while being worked for her engagement in the sixth race Thursday afternoon at the Fair Grounds, and had to be withdrawn, according to owner-trainer "Butscy" Hernandez. Domanio and Bright are the latest additions to the Fair Grounds schooling list, which has grown considerably during the current week.
