j WAR ADMIRAL TO CONTINUE RACING THROUGHOUT 1939 LEXINGTON, Ky., Dec. 15 Samuel D. Riddle and George Conway went back to Glen" Riddle, Pa., last night after a four day visit to Faraway Farms. Riddle said just before his departure that his decision to race War Admiral instead of retiring him to the stud in 1939 was predicated on the willingness of Col. E. R. Bradley, H. P. Headley, Maj. Louie A. Beard, A. C. Ernst, Lucas B. Combs and others who had booked mares for 1939 to defer their bookings until 1940. He found them agreeable to the plan and so announced that War Admiral will continue in the racing wars through the coming year. Trainer Conway said that War Admiral and others to be raced at Miami will be shipped to Hialeah Park during the next twenty days. While the master of Faraway Farms was here, an inspection of the Xalapa Farm horses to be sold January 19, was made, and manager Harrie B. Scott was authorized to bid on several mares for Riddles account. After the inspection Major Scott and trainer Conway commented that the horses at Xalapa Farm are in splendid condition and that among the yearlings and weanlings there are some good looking racing prospects.
