FLYING HEART, away forwardly, was hustled to the front immediately following the start, was steadied along in front when clear, raced SAIL BY into submission on the turn and held GIMPEY safe at the end. GIMPEY, unable to match the speed of the early leaders, came fast on the outside through the stretch, but was not good enough. ROLLING PAST was slow to settle into stride, secured racing room on the inside entering the stretch and finished fast. MAOLISSA, always in a contending position, tired at the end. GAME CHASER raced evenly, but could not threaten seriously. SAIL BY forced the fast early pace, but quit badly. SHAGGY ANN, away fastest and on the inside, was sent into the lead in the run for the first turn, was rated in front throughout and drew away easily at the end. PROTEUS, away slowly, was in close quarters while racing on the inside, but closed with good speed when clear. DOLLY TOUR, slow to settle into stride, closed a good gap in the final eighth. TARDY JEST, forced to race on the outside, moved up threateningly through the stretch,, but tired. SQUARE PLAY met with repeated interference attempting to come through on the inside. LOCOMOTIVE, much the best, was taken in hand close to the early pace until reaching the back stretch, moved to the front early thereafter and was never threatened. SUMMER HAIL gradually improved her position on the outside, moved up boldly in the stretch, but was no match for the winner. WINSOME LASSIE had good early speed, saved ground and gave way to the first two, but hung on well. PARALLEL bettered her position after a half mile and raced evenly thereafter. DARK TYRANT flattened out in the final eighth. CROSSING OVER could never enter serious contention. CANCEL, away slowly, was rushed into contention and had too much taken out of her. EDITH WALKER turned in a dull race and was never a contender. LEAD PLEASE had good speed to go to the front at once, was rated there on the rail, gave way to FYLFOT on the final turn, but came through on the inside entering the stretch and drew away easily. CANROCK, rated close to the early pace, made repeated bids for the lead, disposed of FYLFOT in the stretch, but was no match for the winner. FYLFOT forced the early pace of the winner, moved to the front on the outside on the final turn, but tired badly. BRAINCHILD could never engage the leaders. PRETTY-LASS was never a serious factor. LAST CHASE closed some ground. TULEYRIES LIN raced evenly. RISE AND SHINE showed nothing. GRUMPY was outrun. ROVING EYE quit early. PLAYiNG DAN, slow to settle into full stride, was able to secure passage on the inside as he bettered his position gradually, wore down BIG BUD on the final turn and was kept under pressure as he drew out through the stretch. BIG BUD took a short early lead while racing with FREESTONE, disposed of the latter after a half mile to regain the lead, then gave way to the winner, but hung on well. BARGAIN BOY raced well placed from the start, but could not better his position in the final drive. SCHLEY NURSE made up some ground. FREESTONE had early speed, but quit badly.
