LENA J., quick to take command, made the pace under clever rating, responded to pressure after reaching the last quarter and held her advantage to the end. NIGHT BUD, outrun for three-quarters, moved up fast thereafter under pressure and was getting to the winner. MISS FIREFLY, never far back and in hand for about five-eighths,, rallied thereafter when called upon and closed gamely. CROUT AU POT saved ground vhile racing well up, .was, hard, ridden after three-quarters and finished well. SILVER PALM, a sharp factor from the start, was put to pressure after seven-eighths and tired in the last eighth. HIT AND RUN lacked early speed, then moved up some on the stretch turn, where he saved ground and faltered. PAY RACK raced wide all the way. CHECKS was outrun. . ZAT SO,- well up from the beginning, responded to pressure after a half mile and held on well. VALDINA, hard ridden after three-eighths, finished strongly. ,-MAEBOB had good speed from the beginning, saved ground and then tired in the last three-sixteenths. JADAAN, never a great distance back, lost ground on the turn and tired in the drive. SKIPPY McGEE was through early. MORNING MAIL had no mishaps. BLACK BUDDY, well up and in hand for a half mile, was put to strong pressure thereafter, wore down TOMS LADY inside the last sixteenth and then stalled off BLIND STAR. The latter wanted for sufficient racing room for three-eighths, came out thereafter and probably was best, closing strongly. TOMS LADY made the pace under light restraint, was briskly shaken up entering the stretch and tired in the last sixteenth. ENCIRCLE had good speed from the beginning, saved ground and tired in the last three-sixteenths. NEDROW lacked speed and failed to rally. JACKKNIFE could not threaten. MISS EUROPE dropped out of contention right after the start and was outrun thereafter. MY PAY, away swiftly and hustled into a commanding lead, was taken under light restraint while setting the pace, saved ground throughout and just lasted to outstay HOLTON. The latter began sluggishly, was in close quarters on the far turn and, taken to the outside thereafter, closed a big gap and finished with a rush. GOLDEN CHIMES forced the pace under pressure for five-eighths, tiring under strong urging in the late stages. PLUCKY BYRD began slowly and worked his way up gradually. TEPERWINEj on the outside all the way, improved his position gradually. LINTER tired in the drive. TRA-LA-LA could not keep up. ADORESS quit. Overweight Tepcrwine, 4 pounds;, Adoross, 3.
