1 TANF0RAN TURF NOTES J Trainer W. J. "Bill" Norton is going right along -with John Hay Whitneys Sidney Carton and the Manhasset Stables Roman Hero. Both are pointing for the ,500 added Tanf oran Three-Year-Old Championship, at a mile and a sixteenth, April 15. Sidney Carton went three-quarters in 1:16 Wednesday morning and Roman Hero went five-eighths in 1:04. Congressman, a crack handicap performer owned by Fred Turner, Texas turfman, is back in training again after having been freshened up since Santa Anita. The Jobella Stables Short Notice, a ranking sprinter last year, continues to train impressively and probably will see silks next week. Jockey C. Bianco, now performing at Cali-ente, has wired that he will be at Tanforan next week to accept mounts. E. Jelly was a.n arrival from Caliente on Wednesday with Palliation, Shasta Over and Bone Black, all good distance horses. Jelly, a former jockey, trains the horses himself. Tom Holloway, veteran trainer, has taken over Elstree to train for R. J. Rossi. The stewards have given permission to the owners of Beau Meddler, Fast Flight and Orientalist to enter their horses. During the absence of A. R. Bresler, who left for the South to take up some two-year-olds, the -horses of Tom Donley will be trained by E. H. Beezley. V. Vesely arrived from- Caliente with the plater Misme.
