BOOTER BILLY began slowly, but improved his position thereafter and was easily best of the others. MANNIE closed a gap and finished gamely. JIMMIE SWEET began well, then dropped back, but came again in the middle of the track through the stretch. HEARTLESS GIRL began slowly and was badly outrun all the way. NEW TRIAL had early speed. EDGAR BOY raced forwardly from the start and, saving ground on the inside, moved up fast on the stretch turn, took the lead an eighth out and withstood the challenge of HADTOBE. The latter had early speed, went to the outside in the stretch and was gradually overtaking the winner. RUSTIC MISS set the early pace despite a tendency to bear out on the turn and hung on gamely. JARGO closed much ground when too late. MR. FINN raced evenly. PASS SHOT challenged gamely on the outside on the far turn, but tired thcrafter and pulled up lame.
