LAUREL WREATH, under snug restraint for five-eighths, saved ground, was Steered to the outside for the final drive under good handling and was up in the final strides. ALMA MAE forced the pace from the start, moved into command entering the final .eighth, continued strongly, but was not good enough. BESS COVENTRY, never a great distance back and racing on the outside, finished resolutely in a good effort. OXFORD LAD, under restraint in the early stages, responded to strong urging in the final quarter and was racing strongly at the end. RADIO CHARM had high speed from the start, was placed under pressure when tiring entering the stretch, but failed to respond. LADY ALBERT G. lacked early speed and could not reach the leaders under strong urging. NIM and PRINCE PAD had no mishaps. Scratched— 72341 Ona Boy, 114. RED MAGIC, hustled from the start and on the insido, moved into a commanding lead rounding the far turn, was taken in hand turning into the stretch and, under good handling, withstood BEDIGHT in the final seventy yards. The latter, allowed to settle into best stride, was steered out slightly for the final stages, responded to strong pressure, but was not good enough. HEIDI, taken under restraint when outrun in the first three eighths, was strongly ridden in the final quarter. MISS WEBB lacked early speed, was steered to the inside for the drive, lacked clear racing room, but was going gamely at the end. TEXAS BOY finished with a rush. IDLE WORKER lacked speed. Won easily; second and third driving. t STAR BESS, in close quarters soon after the start and lucky when steered between horses rounding the far turn, took a commanding lead entering the stretch, drew inside the final eighth and had something left at the end. PARVA STELLA forced the pace from the start, raced slightly wide for the final drive and appeared to duck * in when under strong pressure in the drive. TRAMWAY, away slowly, moved to the leaders with a rush, was in close quarters and on the inside throughout the final eighth and, with better "cn« luck. m«ht have been closer. JOBIOSO finished gamely. LYNGATE had no mishaps. QUEEN IRENE was unable to reach the leaders tinder strong nressure. ETERNAL WAVE raced wide PENNY-CRESS lacked speed. MADDENING was through after half a mile. PEGGING AWAY shook off NIGRETTE rounding the far turn, was taken in hand entering the stretch and was ridden out in the final eighth to hold SICY WIND safe. The latter, under restraint in the early stages and under strong pressure, disposed of MY COLIN in the final eighth and was reaching the winner at the end. MY COLIN, steered to the. inside when clear rounding the far turn, continued strongly in the stretch drive and under strong pressure, but gave way in the final forty yards. GETALONG lacked early speed, but finished gamely on the outside. CRISTATE, allowed to settle in his best stride, closed resolutely MOLASSES BOB lacked speed. JUBILEE C. had no mishaps. MOORISH was outrun. NIGRETTE, hustled from the start, failed to respond to increased pressure turning into the stretch and appears not to like the track. FAST MOVE, racing in his best form and under mild restraint while forcing the pace, moved into command turning into the stretch, was slightly urged approaching the final eighth and drew clear thereafter. PROFESSOR PAUL moved to the leaders steadily after the first quarter and continued strongly under strong urging in the stretch, but could not reach the winner. PRINCE ARGO, hustled from the start and showing high speed, tired in the final eighth and should benefit by this effort. CHANCE RAY raced on the outside in close attendance of the leaders and was racing gamely at the end. JOHN FRANCIS closed stronglv. ROIDEF lacked speed. TRANSVIEW had nothing left for the final drive. MUSCLE IN set the pace under occasional pressure, saved ground in the final stages, but tired in the closing drive. QUOTUM made a bold bid entering the stretch, but could not reach the leaders.
