TWO NAMED ST. BERNARD LOUISVILLE, Ky. May 6— Two horses by the name of St. Bernard have run in the Kentucky Derby during its -sixty-four year history. In 1919 B. F. Brannan owned a horse by that name and in 1935 another St. Bernard carried the colors of Elmer Dale Shaffer. The first St. Bernard finished eighth and the latter seventeenth in a field of eighteen. The St. Bernard of 1919 was a son of Ivan the Terrible and Beatrice K., and he passed from the turf picture a sufficient number of years to permit young Shaffer to claim the name for his son of Bull Dog.
