Patrons who visit Lincoln Fields on opening day, Monday, will find many improvements, including a clubhouse which has undergone many .changes since last spring. The entire second floor has been altered and guests there will find the old dining room made into a large wagering enclosure and- at one end a cocktail lounge has been constructed in . such a way that it can be opened in fair weather and closed when it is either cold or raining. This lounge is now one of the most at- tractive features of the clubhouse and it should prove a popular rendezvous in this exclusive section. The lower level of the clubhouse also has been renovated and the mutuel windows which formerly lined two sides of the building now are stretched along one side only. Col. Matt J. Winn, executive director of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club, has j expended a considerable sum for the improvement and beautification of the plant, which was never more appealing to the eye than it is this spring. The grounds, too, have received much attention from track superintendent Tom Young, whose floral displays will be the envy of many amateur gardeners. The grandstand and other buildings and appointments have been painted and, in addition, most of the barns have been re-paired and repainted since last spring.
