Espino Golds Final Bid Nets Beulah Park Score Winners of All Races Given War Bonds; Stamps to Winning Riders COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 16. Closing with his accustomed display of courage through the stretch, Mrs. Frank Nugents Espino Gold wore down the leaders to account for the Pabst Blue Ribbon Handicap by a length. This event served as the principal attraction of the Beulah Park card this afternoon. Pomiva and Sir S. divided the minor awards. Pomiva wrested the lead from Sir S., the pacemaker, when straightened out in the stretch, but during the final test failed to withstand the final charge of the strongly-finishing Espino Gold. This marked the second success here for the Nugent color-bearer, and a double for jockey L. Whiting during the afternoon, also his seventeenth winning mount at the present meeting. At the conclusion of this race, Mrs. Jack Moore presented the Pabst Blue Ribbon trophy to Mrs. Nugent, and, in addition to the winners share of the purse, received a 00 war bond. The winners of all other races this afternoon received 0 war bonds, and the winning jockeys 2.50 in war stamps. These were presentations of the Beulah Park Jockey Club.
