No less than 15 top flight three-year-olds have been named through the entry box for the mile and a furlong headliner and the field shapes up as one of the best in the history of the Vapor City feature. Brolite Farms Challenge Me, who established a new mile and a sixteenth track record of 1:42 % in the Oaklawn Handicap here last weekend, will undoubtedly rule as one of the choices for the test. Tony Skoronski will be at the reins, insuring the Brolite representative good handling. Col. C. V. Whitneys entry of Signals Bloke and Alamein will not be without sup-! porters in the Arkansas. Both the home-jbred Whitney three-year-olds have visited the winners circle during the current spa session and trainer Lydell T. Ruf t has brought his charges along in steady fashion. Should the track remain fast. Alamein may be withdrawn, but should an "off " strip prevail for the feature, both of the Whitney horses are expected to answer the bugle. Lunt to Send Out Entry W. I. Lunt is to place his hopes in High Fox and Merry Sunshine for the closing-day stake. Although High Fox has raced in creditable style at the local oval he has not yet been returned a winner, although he was successful in three of his Florida engagements before shipping to the Spa. .Merry Sunshine, whom Lunt recently ac-I quired from Dixiana, won a host of ad-i mirers when she accounted for the recently decided Dumas Purse at the direct expense of David Fergusons Bell Buzzer, a certain starter in the Arkansas. The last-named performer is in top shape, according to trainer Charles Sanborn, and he may prove one of the stouter contenders in the rich event. Donna-Ray Stable will have a stout pair to carry its silks, Texas Sandman and Elis- sa B. being named to start. C. U. Yaeger will depend on Valdina Perion and Mrs. Floyd Wests colors are to be carried by Comanche Peak. Erlanger Stables Shut Up, who won his last start in clever style; Mrs. F. D. Rices Green Bush. James Emerys High Harp, Mrs. S. Smiths Scared Cards and Four Oaks Stables Big Head complete the field for the 1944 renewal of the Arkansas. Big Head. Canadian-owned star, is well regarded at the Vapor City track and the colt will have the saddle services of the veteran, George Seabo. Racing secretary and handicapper Eugene W.
