Two Louisville Handicaps Draw Stars Downs, Kentucky Eligibles Listed Forty-Eight Nominated for Former Stake, With Latter Attracting Only Two Less LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 31.— Churchill Downs patrons seemed assured of high-class handicap racing during the spring meeting, a perusal of the nominations for the Churchill Downs and Kentucky handicaps reveals. Virtually the same fields were named for the two ,000 stakes, both at one mile. Warren Wrights crack trio, Sun Again, Mar-Kell and Ocean Wave; Mrs. Al Sabaths Alsab, Dixianas Amber Light and John Marschs Futurity specialist, Occupation, were named for both. In addition, the Churchill Downs, to be run for the first time on Derby Day, attracted Greentree Stables Four Freedoms and Famous Victory, the former recent winner of the Flamingo Stakes at Hialeah Park by a nose over Sun Again, and Hal Price Headleys American Derby winner of last year, Askmenow, and Anticlimax. For the Kentucky, assigned the third Saturday on the Downs program, Marsch also named Jezrahel, winner of the Arlington Futurity last year. Calumet Leading Nominator In all, 48 were named for the Churchill Downs and 46 for the Kentucky Handicap, Thirty-six were named for both events. Warren Wrights Calumet Farm led the nominators in both events with four, Son of Peace being his fourth nominee.
