My Gracious Raced 56TimesPastYear Misstep Gelding Credited With Nine Wins; Eighteen Started 44 or More Times The distinction of having faced the starter most times in 1943 goes to the then eight-year-old, My Gracious, who paraded post- ward no less than 56 times. Confining his J " racing to Oriental Park in Havana, Cuba, the gelded son of Misstep and Red Riding 2 Hood came through with nine winning per- c formances, was second 13 times and third t on 15 occasions. His total winnings, though, were but ,969, a factor attributed to the k small purses offered at Havana. f Two Ply was the second busiest horse the past season, starting 55 times, which was 3 one more than either Jimmy H. or R. Pin- chot. Rollsona, on the other hand, was close I with 53 performances. r Two Ply Won Three Races A gelded son of Sun Beau and Fritters, j Two Ply, who turned seven on January 1 1 j: past, won three races, was second nine times and third four times for winnings of j ,272. Jimmy H., another Havana horse, is credited with five wins, 11 seconds, and j seven thirds for ,057 earnings. R.
