Downs Wagering Records CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 4. — New wagering records were set here Saturday by the record throng officially estimated at more than 110,000. The 1 huge gathering wagered ,253,042 on the Derby itself, a new mark for both the Derby or any other single American race, and wagered ,636,403 on the nine-race program, a new Churchill record. The previous , marks, both established last year, were ,-202,474 on the Derby and ,608,208 on the I day.
