DIXIE DINAH went to the front after a quarter, held a clear lead entering the stretch, but was under vigorous urging thereafter to withstand SUN TAVY. The latter, never far back, was forced to take up sharply when impeded near the three-eighths «ole, then came again when clear, but could not reach DIXIE DINAH, although probably best. PLAY AGAIN Could not threaten when set down for the drive. GINGERETTE was outrun. M0N SPEED raced prominently to the stretch, then drifted out while tiring. MCC0SH improved his position to the stretch, came out for the drive, but could not menace the winner. HAPPY PAT lacked early speed, but finished fast. MAGIC TOUCH faltered after racing prominently to the stretch. PADUCAH, on the outside throughout, could not threaten. HAVANA LAD tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. VALETTA had no mishap. COUNTY BELLE, forced to take up sharply when crowded at the start, never entered serious contention. SIR JIMMY was outrun. ROSSIE GIBSON had early speed and was cut down entering the stretch. NEAQUEEN, forwardly placed from the start, came gamely when set down in the stretch and, after disposing of FLICK, won going away. SARAH HASH, outrun early, came to the middle of the track for the drive and closed stoutly under punishment. FLICK went to the front at once, made the pace to the final furlong, then faltered. GOOD HUNTING raced evenly in a good effort. LADY TYRANT failed to rally when reused for the drive. COUNT BLUE had no excuse. BOTTLE KNIGHT was never a factor. OUR MEMORY was outrun. MEALSO assumed command at once, engaged FORE CADDY to the stretch and, after shaking off the latter, lasted to hold L0UJAC. The latter, away slowly, was hustled to reach serious contention, responded well when set down for the drive and was _etting to the winner at the finish. COTTON JOE, on the outside to the stretch, could not better his position when hard ridden during the last eighth. FORE CADDY, much used engaging MEALSO to the stretch, reached the lead between calls, but had nothing left for the drive. HYPOTHESIS began fast, but could not keep up. PERCIEVE raced evenly and had no mishap. DEVILROLE lacked early speed. KENTUCKY JOE raced prominently to the stretch, then gave way. LUCKY RUBY, on the outside throughout, never was dangerous. SHAWS PRIDE, forwardly placed from the beginning, came willingly when hard ridden during the stretch run and, after disposing of GOLDEN MAN, won going away. GOLDEN MAN, away fast and never far back, assumed command after three-eighths, held a short lead when settled for the drive, but was unable to withstand the winner. CID PLAY came out for the stretch run and closed strongly. BIG BROTHER, between horses to the upper turn, was blocked when moving up in the stretch and could not get to the leaders. NICKEY W. faltered after racing well to the last furlong. COMPATRIOT was outrun. MISS TARTAN had a rough trip. ARTILLERIST, forced wide throughout, was never dangerous.
