LEANORD G. was steadied within reach of the early leaders, moved around on the outside readily when called upon on the stretch turn and was up under pressure. SKIP LEVEL moved into closer contention on the outside in the backstretch and made a stout bid in the final quarter, but could not resist the winner. DEVILS FROLIC was sent into a clear lead and saved ground, but weakened. DOUBLE BOURBON raced evenly and finished well. HOODOO LADY made up some ground from a slow beginning. WOODSMAN could not improve his position. BOLD COPPER had some early speed, but could not keep up. PATRUSKA was done early. AIR BORNE was never prominent. COWLAN, well ridden, was sent into command soon after the start, shook off SHASTA MAN to draw clear, but had to be hard ridden to hold EL NEGRO safe at the end. The latter, a forward factor from the beginning, moved into closer contention on the final turn and closed stoutly, but failed to get up. BETTY VAN, very sluggish early, improved her position gradually and finished well. LETSFLY raced evenly and forwardly, but weakened at the end. BEAN POT was unable to improve her position. POLYCHU passed tired horses. PRAIRIE FLOWER could not keep up. RICH SWEEP raced wide on the first turn. WHEELETA was not hurried early, improved her position readily on the outside when shaken up, was placed to pressure on the final turn and gradually wore down MARCHING FEET. The latter was steadied close to the early pace, took command readily on the far turn, drew clear and saved ground, but could not withstand the winner. MILKYMOON, a forward factor from the beginning, was sent to the front in the backstretch, but weakened. MISS WINKS raced evenly, but could not improve her position. BLUE MOUNTAIN, forwardly placed from the beginning, was forced to lose some ground at the first turn, then continued gamely. SUPER MARINES, unable to outrun the early leaders, saved ground and closed well. DELORAH was unable to improve her position while turning in a good effort. PRECO made up some ground in the late stages. AFTER EIGHT could not engage the leaders. FIELD DOR quit after setting the early pace. NOD was never prominent. VALDINA DATE raced evenly and forwardly and finished well. RAYDEL closed some ground in the late stretch. STATIC CHASER could not keep up. BROWN DAME was used up early. CERBERUS was outrun. INVERCORK, a stout contender from the beginning, secured room on the inside to drive to the front on the stretch turn, then just lasted to hold NELLIE WEED safe. The latter, never far back, responded well through the stretch, was able to secure room on the inside and just failed to get up. WHOSYOURGAL had speed to take command in the run for the first turn and went slightly wide entering the stretch, but held on well. BE A BEE raced evenly and forwardly, but could not improve her position. REDS YUCCA finished well on the outside. WAR MISS could not threaten. ONE BLUE could not reach the leaders, was in close quarters on the final turn and was not dangerous. FOUR QUEENS broke well, but dropped out of contention at once. Overweight— Wilma Van, 1 pound. TRY FLIGHT, away fastest, was sent into a clear lead at once, was steadied in front while saving ground, but was under stiff punishment to hold LARKMEAD JANE. The latter, closest to the winner throughout, moved around on the outside for the drive and finished well. IMPENETRABLE moved into closer contention after a half mile and closed with a rush between the leaders. LIGHT REIGH was unable to engage the leaders, but turned in a good effort. GIANT SERVANT was steadied closest to the pace of TOP SERGEANT, raced the latter into submission on the final turn and drew out to win with something in reserve. TOP SERGEANT was steadied in front with a short lead, saved ground, but could not resist the winner. QUEEN ISLAM moved into closer contention after a half mile, finished well on the outside, but could not threaten the first two. SINGLE UP raced evenly and forwardly, but was unable to improve her position. CANT CATCH made a bid to reach the leaders on the far turn, but weakened. The others were never dangerous.
