Hoopers Argentine Horses Debark at Orleans Wednesday CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 5. — The two horses Ivan Parke purchased in Argentina for Fred W. Hooper, Alabama turfman whose Hoop Jr. galloped to victory in the 1945 Kentucky Derby, are expected to debark at New Orleans on Wednesday. Parke, who selected the two, both bred in the Argentine, believes they will prove valuable additions to the Hooper stable. From New Orleans the horses will be mnned to the Hooper farm near Montgomery where they will join their owners 18 American-bred two-year-olds and 10 older performers in training there. On May 15, Parke will transfer the entire stable to Hawthorne for racing during the Lincoln Fields meeting. Education, leading money winner among the two-year-olds of 1946, and Miss Mood are two of the better older Hooper horses.
