Brisbane Cup to Blue Boots BRISBANE, Australia, May 5 Reuters. — J. G. McDougalls Blue Boots, by The Buzzard out of Blueskirt, won the 0,000 Brisbane Cup over two miles here today. Blue Boots, ridden by M. McGrowdie, covered the course in 3:22 and beat Russia by four lengths. Rimfire, flying the colors of Miss D. L. Clayton, was third, three-quarters of a length away. There were 12 runners. After being in the rear for about 10 furlongs, Blue Boots made up ground gradually on the outside until he was third. Going easily entering the stretch, he held Russia, the Melbourne Cup winner, safe in the final run home. Blue Boots carried 103 pounds and was a 5 to 2 favorite.
