Hollywood Opens May 17 LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 7.— Loyd Wright, chairman of the California Horse Racing: Board, issued the following: statement this afternoon: "The California Horse Racing Board is glad to announce that through close cooperation of Santa Anita Park and Hollywood Park, Hollywood is able to open its meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 1949. Hollywood Park has requested of the board an acceleration of the racing dates granted yesterday and the board has approved the request. This, of course, means that the regular racing schedule heretofore granted will prevail."
