Amend Off-Track Betting Bill SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 7.— The off-track betting bill of Assemblyman Thomas J. Doyle, of Los Angeles, which calls for bookmakers to pay a ,000 a year license, furnish a 0,000 bond and give five per cent of their gross to the state for the general fund, was sent back to the printers today to have the following clause inserted: "In case the applicant is a copartnership, each of the individual partners must be indorsed as herein provided. No freeholder or leaseholder shall indorse any applicant or partner of applicant which is a co-partnership, unless the individual has been indorsed personally and known by the indorser for not less than three consecutive years next preceding date of indorsement. No license shall be issued under this act except to an individual or to a co-partnership. In case of a co-partnership, a license may be issued only in the names of all participants." The amended measure will be taken up by the Assembly some time next week.
