JOCKEY EARL KNAPP — Left for the Detroit Fair Grounds where he will ride for the Dearborn Stable. CitathnXoaltown and Ponder Due at Arlington Tomorrow Will Increase Calumet Unit To Full Strength of 50 Head; Jimmy Jones Now on Scene ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, HI., June 13. — H. A. "Jimmy" Jones, who with his famous father, Ben A. Jones, guides the destinies of the Calumet Farm, was an arrival here this morning, and by Wednesday the stable will be at full force, he reports. Presently there are 38 Calumet thoroughbreds housed along "Millionaires Row" here, and on Wednesday the final shipment from the East will include 12 horses. Heading this last draft will be the brilliant Citation, who is expected to return to competition during the late stages of this meeting; the sensational Coaltown, winner of the Roger Williams Handicap at Narragansett Saturday, and Ponder, Kentucky Derby winner and a leading aspirant for three-year-old laurels this year. Jones reported that both Coaltown and Ponder came out of their races in fine condition and the remaining part of the stable will be loaded aboard a special car tomorrow, and is scheduled to arrive here some time Monday. Ben A. Jones is also here. He has been training all of the Calumet horses in Jimmys absence. Reiterates Fathers Statement Young Jones reiterated the statement of his father a short time ago concerning Citation. He says the great colt is coming along fine and that he would have started some time ago were it not for the fact that he is such an outstanding horse. Arrivals among thoroughbreds this morning were held to a minimum. One of the most prominent among the small number unloaded was the Devereaux Brothers good three-year-old filly, Wirra. The daughter of Equifox — Gayee has been racing at Detroit, where she showed a good turn of speed. In her last race there she finished third to Montes Pride and Smasher. She has been named for several of the important races here for fillies and mares, and is under the guidance of Tom Devereaux. On Wednesday the powerful Dixiana stable, handled by Jack Hodgins, will check in from Detroit, and this group will be headed by the crack handicap performer, Shy Guy, who has been monopolizing the spotlight at the Motor City track. The fast and game colt is pointing for the 5,000 Equipoise Mile in which he probably will meet Coaltown. Thereafter the 0,000 Stars and Stripes Handicap and the 0,-000 Arlington Handicap will be his next objectives.
