J J Amiel Amiel Hopeful Hell Make It Two Derby Winners in Row RowJ J J AMIEL owns the 1951 Kentucky Derby winner Count Turf who was the first horse he ever nominated for the Downs classic Amiel a New Yorker is engaged in the real estate busi ¬ ness and also owns the Turf Restaurant at Broadway and 48th Street New York in front of which stands a metal jockey statue adorned with the painted silks which CountTurf carried successfully last year As a youth Amiel sold pop at the baseball parks and later operated three of the New York Worlds Fair eating establishments
