Large New Orleans Delegation On Hand for This Years Derby DerbyCHURCHILL CHURCHILL DOWNS Louisville Ky May 2 With the possible exception of New York there is no city in America 800 miles or more from Louisville that will have more thoroughbred lovers at the Derby than New Orleans La Presence in this seventyeighth running of the Blue Grass classic of Sam Wilsons Gushing Oil and H G Bookmans Happy Go Lucky which ran one two in the Louisiana Derby as well as the keen interest that always has been shown by Louisianians and especially Orleanians have been contributing factors to the largest excursion in history of racing fans from the deep south to Louisville LouisvilleHundreds Hundreds have come by motor car and plane nearly 100 arrived on a special train over the Louisville and Nashville Thursday morning and nearly 300 came in Friday morning It is believed a thousand will be at Churchill Downs from New Orleans and Louisiana where many breeding farms have been established and where racing thanks to the successful meetings at the Fair Grounds
