Stewards McMeekin Goode Young Supervise Downs Sport SportCHURCHILL CHURCHILL DOWNS Louisville Ky May 2 The 78th running of the Ken ¬ tucky Derby here tomorrow will be super ¬ vised by three of the best known stewards in the nation Sam H McMeekin Jack G Goode and Jack S Young Theirs is the responsibility of staging a truly run race raceMcKeekin McKeekin is a former newspaper man who graduated to the ranks of turf official many years ago His stewardship at Churchill Downs has established him as one of the elder statesmen among of ¬ ficials ficialsGoode Goode literally grew up on the race ¬ track He is the son of the late John M Goode of Kentucky whose passing a few months ago was mourned from coast to coast coastYoung Young serves as steward representing the Kentucky Racing Commission He is well known here in the Middle West being a steward in New Orleans in the winter and in Detroit in the summer in addition to his activity in Kentucky spring and fall
