Colonial Again Divided At Garden State Park ParkBoot Boot All Favored in First While Tilly Rose Jacodema Vie in Latter LatterBy By WILLIAM C PHILLIPS PHILLIPSStaff Staff Correspondent GARDEN STATE PARK Camden N J May 2 Due to an overwhelming response the 10th renewal of the Colonial Handicap will be run here tomorrow in two divisions Thus the Garden State Racing Association which is experiencing a generous increase in business will offer two purses of 20000 I I added money to be fought over by nine fillies and mares in the first division to be run as the sixth race and by 10 members of the distaff side named overnight in the second half scheduled as the seventh event The largest crowd of the young meeting will be on hand to witness the two sixfurlong battles and the track should be fast fastWoodvale Woodvale farms Boot All with 120 pounds heads the initial half meeting eight rivals to pibm she will attempt to concede from four to 12 pounds She won her only two starts at Jamaica this spring in the most convincing fashion and she figures to be a heavy favorite King Ranchs Tilly Rose and Apheim Stables Jacodema share equal high imposts of 119 pounds in the second division which ap ¬ pears the most interesting of the divided test and they will each face eight oppo ¬ nents who are assigned from four to nine pounds less in weight Tilly Rose met and defeated Jacodema in her last race at Jamaica and she rates to take the favorite roll rollThis This is the second time in the history of the Colonial that two divisions were run Beaugay and Recce capturing their re ¬ spective divisions in 1946 The horsemens response to the stake was rather surprising in view of the difficulty that racing secre ¬ tary M C Ty Shea has encountered in filling his programs the last couple of days although Saturdays card is wellsup ¬ plied and balanced throughout the eight
